The Montreal native, ranked fourth in the world, arrives at the All England Club following a quarterfinal exit at the ATP 500 grass-court event in Halle, Germany, where he lost to eventual champion Frances Tiafoe.

Denis Shapovalov of Richmond Hill, Ontario, will meet Spain's Pablo Carreno Busta in his opening match. Gabriel Diallo of Montreal takes on France's Benjamin Bonzi.
Canadian women's singles matchups
Leylah Fernandez of Laval, Quebec, seeded 22nd, opens against Indonesia's Julia Tjen. Bianca Andreescu of Mississauga, Ontario, competing as a qualifier, faces China's Shuai Zhang.
Doubles action
In women's doubles, the second-seeded pairing of Gabriela Dabrowski of Ottawa and Brazil's Luisa Stefani will meet Poland's Alicja Rosolska and Chile's Alexa Guarachi in the first round. Fernandez and Kazakhstan's Yulia Putintseva will face Anna Danilina of Kazakhstan and Serbia's Aleksandra Krunic.
The tournament begins Monday at the All England Club.
