Tennis Canada announced that the Davis Cup Qualifiers second round between Canada and France will take place at the Videotron Centre in Quebec City on September 18 and 19, 2026. The tie marks the first Davis Cup match held in Quebec City since October 1974, according to Gestev.
Auger-Aliassime to Compete in His Hometown
Félix Auger-Aliassime, currently ranked No. 5 in the world, has confirmed he will represent Canada in the tie. The Quebec City native will compete in a professional match in his hometown for the first time in his career, a milestone he described as meaningful. In a statement to Gestev, Auger-Aliassime said he grew up in Quebec City and discovered tennis there, and that competing in front of his family and local fans would be "a tremendous honour."
Path to the Finals
The winner of the Canada-France tie will advance to the Davis Cup Finals, which will be held in Bologna in November 2026. The match represents a significant opportunity for Canada to progress in the competition's structure.
