The 24-year-old, ranked No. 31, completed the victory in one hour and 38 minutes, capping a dominant run through the WTA 500 tournament.

Fernandez dropped just one set across the entire tournament and converted six of 12 break-point opportunities against Gibson. The Quebec native won 67 per cent of rallies when her first serve was in play and captured 54 per cent of points on return, according to the official WTA website. She also recorded five aces in the match.
What was Fernandez's path to the title?
Fernandez entered Singapore as the sixth seed and reached the final by defeating Poland's fifth-seeded Maja Chwalinska 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 in the semifinals on Saturday. Earlier in the tournament, she defeated top-seeded Mirra Andreeva in the quarterfinals. The victory marked Fernandez's first final appearance of the season and her ninth career WTA final.
When was her last title?
Fernandez's previous WTA title came in October 2025 at the Japan Open in Osaka. Three of her six career titles have been won in Asia, including the Singapore championship. The Laval native has now captured two WTA 500 titles in her career.
