Canadian qualifier Victoria Mboko defeated Poland's Magdalena Frech 6-3, 6-2 in the first round of Wimbledon women's singles on 1 July. Mboko, ranked No. 9, secured the straight-sets victory in one hour and 15 minutes to reach the second round at the All England Club.
